A periscope is a device that allows you to see over or around obstacles where you don’t have a direct line-of-sight view. Submarines use periscopes for scanning the air and water surface above them, but they can also be fun and educational tools.
How to Make a Simple Periscope:
Materials Needed:
A long tube (such as a paper towel or wrapping paper roll)
2 mirrors (basic hand mirrors work well)
Scissors
Adhesive (tape, glue, putty, or adhesive stickers)
Steps:
Cut the tube to the desired length.
Place the mirrors parallel to each other inside the tube at a 45° angle.
Ensure there are openings on both ends of the tube for viewing.
Secure the mirrors in place using tape or glue.
Adjust the size and shape of the viewing openings as needed.
Look through the openings, and voilà! You’ve made a simple periscope! 🌟
